"Online Learning, Web 2.0"

Krista Terry, Ph.D.

During this session, different models and strategies for online learning will be presented and discussed.  Particular attention will be paid to discussing the use of a variety of web 2.0 tools - ranging from blogs and wikis to virtual worlds to promote active learning and learner engagement.

Dr. Krista Terry is Assistant Professor, Instructional Technology, Department of Leadership and Educational Studies, Reich College of Education, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC.

Dr. Terry instructs graduate-level Instructional Technology courses, which are delivered in online and blended delivery modalities to K-12 teachers throughout western North Carolina and  performs scholarly and research activities requisite of a tenure-track position. Her areas of interest include virtual worlds, distance learning strategies and various aspects related to cognition and effective instructional strategies for technology based instruction.
